But on top of being an ambitious visual novel, it’s also a strategy RPG. Games like Fire Emblem have conditioned players to be very precious about keeping their parties alive, but The Hundred Line actually has multiple mechanics tied to sacrificing characters on the battlefield, and the story of how the team at Too Kyo Games decided to build their game around that idea is pretty interesting.
